Finally, the trailer for the film version of the hugely popular TV series Downton Abbey has arrived. And I'm so happy with that... The period ITV drama ended in 2015 after six series and the film version is released this september.
Two trailers for the movie were simultaneously released this week and there's a lot of things we find out through them. I've been reading as well a lot of articles and interviews about the new movie, so I decided to share the main things people should learn about it.
1. The original main cast will be returning for the new film, with Elizabeth McGovern, Hugh Bonneville, Academy-Award winner Maggie Smith, Allen Leech, Laura Carmichael, Michelle Dockery, Joanne Froggatt, Matthew Goode, Michael Fox and more all seen reuniting in the new trailer. Julian Fellowes, the show's creator, has written the film's screenplay and he is also the co-producer.
2. The King and Queen are coming to stay in Downton Abbey. If you thought the Crawleys were posh, think twice, because this time, they will do their best toi receive the visit of George V and Queen Mary. Two Marys will be battling for supremacy in the Downton house.
3. Dame Maggie Smith still has the best lines. Oh... and this is so good! I missed her so much! She's acting royalty and she's as sharp as ever. "I never argue, I explain," she sternly tells her son, the Earl of Grantham, in one scene.
4. Romance is in the air. It's now 1927 and it seems that Lady Mary's marriage to Henry Talbot is still going strong. But they're not the only couple feeling the love - a new romance appears to be blossoming between widow Tom Branson and Lady Bagshaw's maid, Lucy, played by newcomer Tuppence Middleton. And there's also a quick glimpse of a kiss between Thomas and a mystery man (possibly one of the Royal family's staff).
5. There's a real-life couple in this movie. Imelda Staunton is a new face - the actress has swapped Hogwarts for Highclere Castle - and will appear alongside real-life husband and Downton veteran, Jim Carter.
6. There's trouble under the stairs...It looks as though the Royal family's entourage is ruffling a few feathers when they arrive and it appears the Downton staff aren't going to stand for it.
7. It's releasing in the UK one week earlier than the US - September 12. In Portugal it will premiere on Semptember 19.
8. Matthew Crawley (Dan Stevens) won't return in any form, whether an unexpected resurrection, or a flashback to happier days at the Abbey.
9. Highclere Castle, located in Hampshire, England, served as the primary location for filming during the series' original run. And thankfully, filming once again took place at that same location, ensuring that there will be no discrepancies or differences in the clearly iconic exterior of the Crawley family estate.
10. It's a shame, then, to learn that Matthew Goode was apparently busy with other projects during the time that the Downton Abbey movie was being filmed, and, as a result, Henry's role in the film is apparently going to be relatively limited. It would be a shame to think that there may be trouble in the cards for Lady Mary and Henry, considering how the series left them off married and with a baby on the way. So we can only hope that Henry's relative absence isn't too glaring.
Finalmente, chegou o trailer da versão cinematográfica da popular série de TV "Downton Abbey". E eu estou mega entusiasmada... O drama da ITV terminou em 2015, depois de seis séries, e a versão do filme é lançada em setembro deste ano.
Dois trailers do filme foram lançados simultaneamente esta semana e há muitas coisas que é possível descobrir através deles. Eu tenho lido muitos artigos e entrevistas sobre o novo filme, por isso decidi partilhar aquelas coisas que todos querem saber.

3. Maggie Smith vai continuar a ter as melhores 'falas'. E isso é tão bom! Quem não sentiu a falta dela? Ela vai agir como se fosse da realeza e vai estar de língua mais afiada do que nunca. "Eu nunca discuto, eu explico", afirma severamente ao filho, o conde de Grantham, numa das cenas.
4. O romance está no ar. Agora, já em 1927, parece que o casamento de Lady Mary com Henry Talbot segue em grande força. Mas eles não são o único casal apaixonado - um novo romance parece florescer entre o viúvo Tom Branson e a empregada de Lady Bagshaw, Lucy, interpretada pela recém-chegada Tuppence Middleton. E também há um rápido vislumbre de um beijo entre Thomas e um homem misterioso (possivelmente um dos funcionários da família real).
5. Há um casal da vida real neste filme. Imelda Staunton é uma nova cara - a atriz trocou Hogwarts por Highclere Castle - e aparecerá ao lado do marido da vida real e veterano da série, Jim Carter.
6. Há problemas no andar de baixo... Parece que a comitiva da família real vai agitar o ambiente quando chegam e todo o staff de Downton não parece aguentar o fardo.
7. O filme vai ser lançado no Reino Unido uma semana antes dos EUA - a 12 de Setembro. Em Portugal, a estreia será no dia 19 de Setembro.
8. Matthew Crawley (Dan Stevens) não retornará de forma alguma, nem através de uma ressurreição inesperada ou de um flashback aos dias felizes vividos em Downton Abbey.
9. Highclere Castle, localizado em Hampshire, Inglaterra, serviu como o local principal para filmagem durante toda a série. E, felizmente, as filmagens ocorreram novamente no mesmo local, garantindo que não haverá discrepâncias ou diferenças no exterior icónico da propriedade da família Crawley.
10. É uma pena, no entanto, descobrir que Matthew Goode por ter estado ocupado com outros projetos durante o período de filmagens, como resultado, ter uma presença no filme bastante limitada no papel de Henry. É uma pena imaginar se terão resolvido essa questão com problemas no seu casamento com Lady Mary, sendo que estavam casados e com um bebé a caminho.
