'Sopa no Pão' ('Soup in Bread') is the name of this small restaurant that opened not long ago, right near my house. I must confess that I only went there now ... and it was a pleasant surprise.
The concept is different: the dishes are served in a bowl of Alentejo bread.
There is everything from the typical Portuguese dishes to the traditional food of the world: 'feijoada à transmontana', 'sopa da pedra', fish curry, Spanish cheeks of pork, Indian chicken Tikka Masala ...
I tried the fish curry and the 'feijoada à Transmontana' and I loved it.
The restaurant is located on Avenida Defensor de Chaves 77 A / B (Lisbon), but next to El Corte Inglés (António Augusto Aguiar street) there is also a bicycle selling soups - the Bike Soup.
Oh, and if you prefer to eat in the comfort of home, you can also do so by using the Take Away service!
'Sopa no Pão' é o nome deste pequeno restaurante que abriu não há muito tempo, bem perto da minha casa. Confesso que só agora lá fui... e foi uma agradável surpresa.
O conceito é diferente: os pratos são servidos numa taça de pão alentejano.
Há de tudo um pouco, dos pratos tipicamente portugueses a comida tradicional do mundo: feijoada à transmontana, sopa da pedra, caril de peixe, bochechas de porco à moda espanhola, frango indiano Tikka Masala...
Eu experimentei o caril de peixe e a feijoada à transmontana e adorei.
O restaurante encontra-se na Avenida Defensor de Chaves 77 A/B (Lisboa), mas junto ao El Corte Inglés (na rua António Augusto Aguiar) também costuma estar uma bicicleta a vender as sopas - a Bike Soup.
Ah, e se preferir comer no conforto de casa, também o pode fazer, utilizando o serviço de Take Away!
