The London Mastaba is a temporary sculpture made of stacked barrels, and it's inspired from ancient mastabas. It has 20 metres in heigh and it consists of 7,506 horizontally stacked coloured barrels. The London Mastaba is the now the view at London's Serpentine, in Hyde Park.
This is the first major open-air public work signed by the artist in the UK and commemorates the opening of an exhibition on the work of Christo and his wife Jeanne-Claude at the Serpentine Galleries.
"Christo and Jeanne-Claude: Barrels and The Mastaba 1958--2018" is on at the Serpentine Gallery until 9 September.
A London Mastaba é uma escultura temporária feita de barris empilhados e é inspirada em antigos mastabas. Tem 20 metros de altura e consiste em 7.506 barris coloridos empilhados horizontalmente. A London Mastaba é agora a vista da Serpentine de Londres, em pleno Hyde Park.
Esta é a primeira grande obra pública ao ar livre assinada pelo artista no Reino Unido e comemora a abertura de uma exposição sobre a obra de Christo e sua esposa Jeanne-Claude nas Serpentine Galleries.
