First, let me tell you that I'm a huge fan of Cinema since an early age. In such a way that at some point in my life I even thought seriously of working in that area. I was one of those who was able to go to the movies twice in the same day to watch as many movies as I could. I did it in college.
And during that time I was collecting every magazine, from Première to Empire or Variety. Not to mention technical books, which were able to lure me even more into the world of film production. Unfortunately, I did not take a picture of the store that existed at St. Martins Lane in London, where in 2007 and the two years that followed I had the opportunity to find a paraphernalia of film-related articles, from books to movie scripts, postcards, movie posters and more ... It was a real shop dedicated to the Seventh Art. I think it was called The Cinema Store and it was the dream of any film lover.
In that first year I was in London (2007), I remember spending an afternoon strolling through the places where one of my favorite movies of all time was filmed: “Notting Hill”. The famous blue door, the travel bookstore, the Ritz, the corner café where Hugh Grant dumps coffee on top of Julia Roberts and even the secret and mega romantic garden (I share that with you someday!).
But there is another film that none of us can resist, especially in the Christmas season. Say, how many times have you seen "Love Actually"? Be sincere ... I saw it so many times that I have already lost count .... There was a Portuguese in the cast, the actress Lúcia Moniz, which made more Portuguese have an even more special love for this film. However, there were a couple that stood in suspense and were the protagonists of one of the most romantic scenes of the cinema: the moment when Mark (Andrew Lincoln) knocks on the door of Juliet (Keira Knightley) to sing "Christmas Carols" but instead he carried a series of cards with messages. It was the silent way he managed to declare himself in love.
Well, recently I went to the house where this scene was filmed. It is in Notting Hill, but in a more quiet area and away from all tourists. And the house is still painted pink! It’s the number 27 of St Luke's Mews. The original script called for him to carpet the mews with rose petals. Not sure if it would be a good idea!...
It's in this mews, too, that Bill Murray gets mugged, all the while assuming it's part of the 'Theater of Life' experience, in Jon Amiel's comedy thriller "The Man Who Knew Too Little".

Primeiro, deixem-me dizer-vos que sou uma grande fã de cinema desde muito pequena. De tal forma que num determinado momento da minha vida cheguei mesmo a pensar seriamente enveredar por aquela área. Eu era daquelas que era capaz de ir duas vezes ao cinema no mesmo dia, para conseguir ver o máximo de filmes possível. Eu fazia isso nos tempos da faculdade.
E durante essa altura fui coleccionando tudo o que eram revistas como a Premiére, a Empire ou a Variety. Isto já para não falar de livros técnicos, que foram capazes de me aliciar ainda mais no mundo da produção de cinema. Tenho pena de não ter feito nenhuma fotografia à loja que existia em St. Martins Lane, em Londres, onde em 2007 e nos dois anos que se seguiram eu tive oportunidade de encontrar uma parafernália de artigos ligados ao cinema, desde livros, a scripts de filmes, postais, posters e muito mais... Era uma verdadeira loja dedicada à Sétima Arte. Acho que se chamava The Cinema Store e era o sonho de qualquer cineasta.

Havia uma portuguesa no elenco, a atriz Lúcia Moniz, o que fez com que mais portugueses tivessem um amor ainda mais especial por este filme. No entanto, houve um casal que ficou em suspenso e foram eles os protagonistas de uma das cenas mais românticas do cinema: o momento em que Mark (Andrew Lincoln) vai bater à porta de Juliet (Keira Knightley) para cantar as "Christmas Carols", mas em vez disso levava com ele uma série de cartões com mensagens. Foi aquela a forma silenciosa que arranjou de se declarar apaixonado.
Pois, recentemente encontrei a casa onde esta cena foi filmada. Fica em Notting Hill, mas numa zona mais recatada e longe do olhar de todos os turistas. E a casa continua pintada de cor de rosa!
É o número 27 da St. Luke's Mews. O argumento original pedia para ele cobrir as antigas cavalariças (rua) com pétalas de rosa...não sei se seria uma boa ideia!...
Foi também nestas mews que Bill Murray foi assaltado, assumindo o tempo todo que faz parte da experiência de 'Theatre of Life', no thriller de comédia de Jon Amiel "The Man Who Knew Too Little".
