Last week I had the opportunity to get to know firsthand the United Colors of Benetton Autumn / Winter 2019 collection. This is the first collection designed by Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.
The usual coloring is all there, with just a few extra pop touches. The looks range from workwear to disco style from the nineties.
There are jackets in acetate padded, pieces with burel mix, some with a british touch. There is a line of sweaters with colorful, ironic sheep patterns that turn out to be a "historical" testimony of the brand. The patterns are evident in all knit sweaters, from stripes to stripes, navajo jacquards, graphics and pop motifs.
The legendary Benetton logo once again takes center stage in prints and knitwear. The sporting attitude is also well apparent in many pieces, but without necessarily being "athleisure". The Benetton style has always been sporty, casual and current.
The gangster is also the protagonist. In the women's collection these pieces come with prints, always with the logo, and in the form of short mini jackets and women's raincoats.
There are also a capsule collection dedicated to Mickey and Snoopy - with sweatshirts, ponchos and backpacks. This small collection shows the love of Jean-Charles de Castelbajac by the comic books stories.
A semana passada tive a oportunidade de conhecer em primeira mão a coleção Outono / Inverno 2019 da United Colours of Benetton, desenhada por Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.
O habitual colorido está lá todo, apenas com uns toques pop extra. Os looks vão do vestuário de trabalho ao estilo de discoteca dos anos noventa.
Há blusões em acetato acolchoado, peças com mistura de burel, algumas com um toque britânico. Existe uma linha de blusas com padrões de ovelhas coloridas, irónicas e que acabam por ser um testemunho “histórico” da marca. Os padrões estão patentes em todas as camisolas de malha, desde as riscas aos degradés, jacquards navajo, grafismos e motivos pop.
O lendário logótipo da Benetton volta a assumir o protagonismo nos estampados e nas malhas trabalhadas. A atitude desportiva está também bem patente em muitas peças, mas sem serem necessariamente "athleisure". O estilo Benetton sempre foi desportivo, descontraído e atual.
A ganga também é protagonista. Na coleção de mulher estas peças surgem com estampados, sempre com o logótipo, e na forma de mini blusões curtos e as gabardinas femininas.
Destaque ainda para a coleção cápsula dedicada ao Mickey e ao Snoopy - composta por sweatshirts, ponchos e mochilas. Esta pequena coleção remete para o amor de Jean-Charles de Castelbajac pelas de histórias banda desenhada.
